  5. This photo shows the Palisades of 
  6. Vogt which are often visible with 
  7. darkly pigmented patients.  The 
  8. palisades are radial extensions of 
  9. the sclera towards the  cornea at 
  10. the limbus with epithelial cells 
  11. often 10-12 cell layers thick 
  12. between them.
